Privacy Notice to Napanee Area Clients


On November 17, 2018 at approximately 12:30 pm  in the Napanee office location ( 70 Dundas Street East) of Addiction & Mental Health Services – KFLA (AMHS-KFLA) experienced a break in in which several items were stolen, including computer equipment. The stolen devices were password protected, and many were also equipped with encryption software.

We are confident that client information on these devices remains secure due to the manner in which our health record system is designed, as well as through agency policies, procedures and staff training, however, there is a possibility that unsecured information may have been found elsewhere within the office space. Napanee OPP is currently investigating the break and entry incident.

As we do not know if any confidential information was accessed, we are unable to provide notification directly to individuals who may be impacted.

We apologize for any inconvenience or harm this may have caused.  As such, we have notified the Office of the Information Privacy Commissioner of Ontario of this incident.
