Class Action Lawsuit representing Inpatients at CPRI, London, ON
Anyone who resided as an inpatient at the Child and Parent Resource Institute, formerly known as the
Children’s Psychiatric Research Institute (“CPRI”) in London, Ontario is alerted to a class action lawsuit being represented by Koskie Minsky LLP.
The lawsuit alleges the Province of Ontario was negligent in its operation, supervision and control of CPRI, resulting in abuse of residents and other harms. The lawsuit represents anyone who resided at CPRI between September 1, 1963 and July 1, 2011.
If you are included in this group, you may choose to stay in the case or get out of it. To stay in, no action is required. You will be entitled to a share of any benefits stemming from the case, but unable to sue the Province of Ontario about the legal claims in this case at any point in the future. To get out of the case, you must send a request to opt out before October 20, 2017. You will not be entitled to any benefits stemming from the case, but will retain your rights to sue individually over the claims in the case.
