AMHS-KFLA has experienced significant change through 2018 to the present and has emerged after this time of transformation as a robust and vibrant organization, well positioned to deliver on its vision, mission, and values.

Agency Leadership, alongside our regional care partners, are working together to build an integrated system of addictions and mental health of care across KFLA.

With the inception of the Frontenac, Lennox and Addington Ontario Health Team (FLA OHT), AMHS-KFLA will form a collaborative policy governance which will oversee the integration of AMHS-KFLA within the FLA-OHT with four key areas of focus:

  1. Improving the patient and caregiver experience.
  2. Improving the health of populations.
  3. Reducing the per capita cost of health care.
  4. Improving the work-life of providers.

Collaborative governance in this case means Board members come from partner organizations, the AMHS-KFLA Client & Family Advisory Council and the public at large.

The Board will govern according to the Addiction and Mental Health – KFLA Ontario Corporation Bylaws. The Board will fulfill the requirements of Ontario Health Governance structures for Ontario Health Teams.
