An Important Message for Our Clients, Families and Caregivers
AMHS-KFLA MAKES CHANGES TO STRENGTHEN MENTAL HEALTH AND ADDICTIONS SERVICES IN OUR COMMUNITIES
AMHS-KFLA is making changes that will help us to deliver on our mission to provide quality care and services for the growing number of people in our communities who experience mental health and addictions challenges.
With the support of the South East Local Health Integration Network (LHIN), AMHS-KFLA is implementing a nine-month transformation plan that will improve the recovery journey for clients and provide ongoing support through a seamless, coordinated system of care.
Now underway is a refocusing of our programs and service delivery to reflect recent advances and evidence-informed practices in the mental health and addictions sector. To support this, the agency is creating 30 new positions – the majority are regulated health professions – to assist clients as part of therapeutic support teams supporting our new models of care and service. With these new roles, we will eliminate a number of union, non-union and management roles that no longer support our refocused programs and services.
These changes will ensure clients and families have improved access to an integrated system of care, and that AMHS-KFLA will continue to play an essential role as a strong partner in the treatment and management of addictions and mental health services in our communities.
As we move through our transformation, there may be changes to our programs and services to serve you better. Clients and families will be advised of any changes that affect you, and our website will be updated regularly.
